Boy Geek's first "geeky memory" was the hours and hours of playing the Atari 2600 his parents bought for him when he was a wee five years old.

Excited about Boy Geek's interest in the Atari 2600, his parents also bought home a Radio Shack TRS-80 Model III home computer (complete with cassette drive)! But it game with no games! So Boy Geek bought a book called "Games Programming in Basic". From this he found he could write unlimited games (text based) and create his own storylines with unique twists and turns.

This may not surprise you then that Boy Geek's favorite subjects in school were not initially science related - rather he favored English Writing which went hand in hand with Boy Geek's love of creating his own video games. It was Boy Geek's first Physics class (high school) that his passion for science kicked in. This later turned to an interest in Chemistry though his pursuit of a Chemistry degree halted when he set fire to his lab station in his first P-Chem lab. Twice.

Realizing his anxious and clumsy persona fit better in front of a computer than a bunsen burner (the following year they stopped using bunsen burners in that lab by the way), Boy Geek turned to computer science and has never looked back. He currently works as a UNIX/Linux System Administrator and also does side work as a sysadmin, DBA, and web developer.

When Boy Geek first started swing dancing, he saw it as the perfect activity to exercise both the mechanical and creative sides of his brain. It has since grown into a great passion and pasttime. Geekswing.com is Boy Geek's "pet project" to share with everyone his enthusiasm for both science and dance. Thanks for visiting!
Don't let Girl Geek's cute adorable exterior fool you! She is as much a geek, if not more, than Boy Geek.

Girl Geek's love for music and creative arts started when she was young: at age 4 she was so happy to be flying on an airplane that she got up and started dancing and singing at the top of her lungs. This did not go unnoticed by the flight attendants who thought she was so cute that they awarded her "wings". Girl Geek continued to enjoy creative performance, joining both her high school's band and Color Guard. By the way, she still holds a high school band record for playing scales on her flute!

If that's not enough, Girl Geek graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Bio-Chemistry and a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy (where she also finished first in her class ). To witness her wonderful geekiness, simply ask her about a physical ache or pain you're having and she'll go geeky to the max on you talking about "chondromalacia patellae" this and "possible joint sublaxation" that. Girl Geek today works as a Director of Physical Therapy at an exclusive clinic that helps people who are not able to walk (stroke victims, amputees, etc) to walk again.

Geekswing.com means having a fun time watching Boy Geek geek out about one of his projects. Moreover, she also makes sure Boy Geek's wacky and nerdy ideas manifest as attractive and cool stuff. Let's face it ... she is the more fashionable and practical of the duo. Girl Geek thanks you for visiting and hopes you enjoy the Geekswing.com experience!
